Apple’s new iPad mini is fast-charge capable, but not with the adapter in the box. Apple’s specifications say the device can reach up to a 50% charge in around 30 minutes when used with a USB-C power adapter capable of providing 35W or higher, but they are sold separately ($59) – the iPad mini comes with a 20W USB-C power adapter.

The new OLED-equipped iPad mini features an 18.9-watt-hour battery rated for up to 10 hours of web browsing or video. The new iPad mini starts at $699 for the Wi-Fi model, with pre-orders opening Wednesday, October 28, ahead of availability on Friday, November 6.Related Roundup: iPad miniTag: OLEDBuyer’s Guide: iPad Mini (Coming Soon)Related Forum: iPadThis article, “OLED iPad Mini Fast Charge Needs a 35W Adapter, Sold Separately” first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forumsMacRumors: Mac News and Rumors – Front PageRead More
