Microsoft files patent for AI that can alter what people say during live broadcasts
Microsoft has filed a patent application for a new AI technology that can alter what people say during live broadcasts. The technology is designed to automatically identify what is being said and can remove or replace words, as well as adjust the speaker’s mouth movements to match the edited audio, reports Futurism.
According to Microsoft, the technology could be used to translate live broadcasts into other languages, remove filler words, and correct slip-ups. It would also be possible to customize the system to individual viewers’ preferences and, for example, remove profanity, offensive language, or certain phrases.
Microsoft states that the technology could be used for lectures, award ceremonies, sporting events, and live TV programs, among other things. It is also possible to save the original recordings as documentation of what was actually said.
Since this is a patent application (spotted by patent-tracker Patentlyze), it is unclear when — or if — Microsoft will launch the technology.ComputerworldRead More
